Dr. Javaid was raised in Eden, North Carolina and is excited to be practicing in the state where he grew up. He obtained his bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina, at Chapel Hill. During his medical training, he completed an internship in general surgery at Atlanta Medical Center in Atlanta, Georgia. At the University of Connecticut, he continued his education by completing an Internal Medicine residency and then stayed an additional year as Chief resident. He completed a combined Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine fellowship at the University of Connecticut in Hartford, Connecticut. At the University of Connecticut, Dr. Javaid was recognized as “Intern of the Year” and he was later awarded “Chief Resident of the Year”. He continued his sub-specialization at Drexel University and Hahnemann Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he served as a Chief fellow during his training in Sleep medicine. He also trained at Philadelphia’s St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, where he worked with children and helped treat a variety of sleep related issues. Dr. Javaid is quadruple board certified in Critical Care Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, and Sleep Medicine.
